Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) turned ten years old this month, and to celebrate the milestone, Rockstar Games released a few outfits themed around the three protagonists in the game: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. In addition to these items, players can also get GTA$ boosts and extra RP on certain missions.
A Journey Through the Decade
Ten years ago, when GTA V first launched on Xbox 360, it was an instant cultural phenomenon. People lined up around the town to get their hands on the game, and it made almost $1 billion in a single day.
Rockstar Games’ Anniversary Treats
In contrast to some of Rockstar’s earlier releases like Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV, which offered expansions or additional content for their single-player campaigns, GTA V remained untouched after its initial release.
A Glimpse into the Future
“It was clear that Rockstar wanted to focus on Grand Theft Auto Online with both Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV,” explains contributor Emily Jones. “Now that GTA V has celebrated its tenth anniversary, it remains to be seen whether Rockstar will shift their focus back toward single-player content for the franchise.”
Looking Ahead: GTA 6 Possibility?
“As much as we would love to see Rockstar release new content for GTA V, the real question is if they’re even working on a successor,” jokes writer James Farley.
