Red Dead Redemption 2: A Phenomenal Single-Player Game, But a Neglected Multiplayer
Red Dead Redemption 2, released in 2017, was a critical success and many consider it Rockstar Games’ finest work to date. Similar to their 2013 hit, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5), Rockstar produced a single-player campaign and an contact multiplayer set in the same universe but distinct from each other.
The Struggle with Red Dead Online
Unfortunately, Red Dead Online hasn’t reached the heights of GTA Online’s success. Some critics blame Rockstar Games for neglecting the multiplayer platform, with no significant content added since its launch.
A Long-awaited Update for Red Dead Online
In late 2021, after a prolonged absence of updates, Red Dead Redemption 2 finally received its first major update, 1.32. The patch addressed several issues and tweaked settings, but the most significant addition was HDR10+ support.
A Comparison with GTA 6
With the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 on the horizon, it’s unsurprising that Rockstar Games has focused their attention elsewhere. Since its launch in late 2019, Red Dead Online remained stagnant with no major updates or new content, even leaving bugs unaddressed.
The Community’s Plea
Despite the game’s impressive single-player mode, fans are eager for Rockstar to engage with Red Dead Redemption 2’s potential. However, their calls fall on deaf ears.
