Exclusive: Dan Houser Files for Two New Trademarks under Absurd Ventures
Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, has filed for two new trademarks under his newly established game studio Absurd Ventures. The trademarks include the names ‘AMERICAN CAPER’ and ‘A BETTER PARADISE’. First spotted by GTA Forum user deadasdisco, these trademarks were filed on July 28, 2023.
Dan Houser left Rockstar Games in March 2020 for undisclosed reasons and later founded two companies in February 2021: Absurd Ventures LLC and Absurd Ventures in Games LLC. In mid-2023, Houser announced his involvement with Absurd Ventures, stating that the company is “building narrative worlds, creating characters, and writing stories for a diverse variety of genres, without regard to medium, to be produced for live-action and animation; video games and other interactive content; books, graphic novels, and scripted podcasts.”
The Chief Operating Officer of Absurd Ventures hinted at more announcements in the weeks ahead regarding projects within the company’s various stages of development. Since then, there hasn’t been any news on its games, leading to speculation about an upcoming reveal at this year’s event on December 7.
On November 8, 2023, Rockstar Games also announced that the official announcement regarding their upcoming title will be revealed in December. What do you think Dan Houser and Absurd Ventures are currently working on? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
